This is incredible!

From TED talks 2012, autonomous flying robots that can work together... There are so many possibilities for this tech I'm not sure where it would end! Have to say though, the first thing i thought of when I saw this was the Buzzhacks or whatever they were called from Half Life 2 ;)

Take a look, it really is pretty cool

Thats just nuts at the end :D

thats not fast its small and always passes close to the camera and its far from agile

Four rotors are more agile than a helicopter with one and a tail rotor, a helicopter can't do what a quadrotor can on the spot, it needs more momentum.

Speed is all determined by what you're sticking on to power it, someone sounds like they have a hardon for helicopters and wants to make it a competition.

I know vijay kumar quite well, pretty sure he reviewed one of my papers.
This was basically the topic of my phd.

the small blades on a quad copter are innefficient no matter how large a motor you stick on them.

helis dont require more momentum because they arent fixed pitch like a quad

Ah ah ah, careful now, you're assuming there's no variable pitched quad-rotor coming , it's entirely possible and remember this is all new stuff.
Yes, helicopters do need momentum, even tiny ones like these; they can't go inverted on the spot, they need to climb vertically or gain forward speed, pitching the rotors to give forward motion isn't enough, hence why you nose down and increase rpm.
