Auzentech Prelude release date?

The product is in the U.K and has cleared Cleared Customs. Booking in slot is booked so looking good.

But OCUK offering retail version only, is that mean that there is no CD with drivers? Im asking because on AuzenTech support web isn't driver yet!!! Says coming soon

Retail means it comes in a big box with loads of stuff (and a driver cd) :)

OMG i was thinking OEM, never mind im an *****. Gona make an order so

Order placed with OCUK , looking forward . Bye bye Creative, almost tho...

Not surprising tbh. Same chip, same drivers. What did people expect?

It's like the nForce 4 having a flaw and people switching from ASUS to DFI to try and get around it - not going to make a difference!

Not good news from what ive been reading people are still having the same problems as they had with x-fi cards.

You are joking!? Oh no, i was thinking about them drivers, that they must be kinda same as for Creative X-Fi cards but on Auzentech Support page is no driver yet, so...
Anyway, any link for that?

hmm reading about it makes me a little unsure now... i might cancel pre-order then wait for a bit until drivers etc have matured. im still not sure tho.

EDIT: changed my mind, I forgot about the 7 day returns policy lol

Well at the moment the drivers are going to be exactly the same as the current X-Fi cards, just this card will have higher quality analogue outputs. We still don't know what form the DDL/DTS support will take, whether it'll be a module that you install along side the Creative drivers, whether they'll mod the latest Creative drivers to include it and add options to a control panel, or come up with something completely different.

Judging by their previous cards it'll just be a mod of the current drivers, no other changes, but it's impossible to tell without asking them.

Yes, via OpenAL (so no problem with it in BF2, BF2142, Quake 4 etc). Older games can use EAX1-4 using ALchemy, as long as the game is supported by it.
