AV / Power through walls

I am planing to wall mount my TV and i would like to run the cables through the walls (both vertically and horizontally) as my AV system will be in the corner of the living room not directly beneath it.

Luckily i have Stud partition walls with metal style studs that have holes in for cables and water supply etc but the big issue is 'How do i feed the cables through'? Without ripping all the plasterboard off the walls or cutting 3 + access holes?

I did some wiring in another room to move some sockets and luckily i was able to wiggle the wires through but that was the stiff electrical kind. I doubt it'll be anywhere near as easy with speaker cables + HDMI etc? I am also unsure as to have openings and then use standard HDMI cables or to fit 'Multimedia plates' behind the TV and at exit point (but this seems like more opportunity for failure points)?

Ideas welcome?

Gonna have to use cable rods to achieve this, but unfortunately you will have to cut some holes out.

Thing is if you play it smart with the holes cut (plug size square), it will be easy to put them back and use a bit of plaster filler then just paint over them.

Otherwise something like this but don’t think they are cheap like the rods.

I was running hdmi over powerline originally, but bought a new LG b7 4k tv, so ran cables in the end. I have similar walls like yours and I managed to run sky cable and a 15m HDMI cable, then just used a spitter for the rest of my devices and if I’m honest, I spent longer trying to find a compatible splitter that supports full 4K hdr 4:4:4 bla bla bla etc, so it isn’t too hard. :) For reference it is:

You can make this job quite a bit simpler:

Cut an access hole where shown in yellow, then fit 3 backboxes to feed the cables through, one just behind the TV, one behind the AV kit and one next to the fire surround. You will want some fishtape or rods to get the cables through. I've shown the alternative route as it avoids cutting into the wall in a very visible location.

Personally though I find putting TVs above fireplaces rubbish though, far too high :p

Edit: Make sure you know where your gas/electic supply to the fire is coming from

Agreed, its really something the OP should consider because staring up above a fire place when sat down gives most people a strained neck in the long run.
