I was wondering if any of you guys could answer a few questions I have about AV Receivers.
I got a 5.1 system but it only works for dvds with no optical so it's no good to me, so I want to get a AV Receiver and I was wondering
1. If i got a cheaper one that didn't have audio out by HDMI could I plug optical into tv as well as HDMI then plug xbox 360 and bluray player into the AV Receiver by HDMI and nothing else?
2. If not if i buy a more costly one like the Sony STR-DH800 that has video and audio by HDMI could I plug xbox etc in by HDMI and the sound should work? or would i need to plug everything in by optical as well as HDMI?
