Just installed it, sounds amazing

Certainly increases power and dynamicsz avr have poor amp stages compared to dedicated amps. However the weakest link now is your avr, as they are typically poor to average when it comes to "hifi"

It's the reason why I have a stereo dac and stereo analogue pre amp, on top of the ab system (av pre amp)

But I use my front speakers as part as a 7.1 cinema setup so I want my fronts for cinema and hifi use.

Is there something I can for the best of both worlds?... I have my power amp setup now.... Could I add a stereo DAC or something?

This info is not really what OP needs tbh

OP needs explanation of something acting purely as a power amp, how pre amp circuits give tonality to the sound and what will happen when integrating a stereo amp with an AVR.

Try adding a stereo integrated amplifier and dac into your system later on.

The marantz avr will then be used for multi channel. Stereo amp and dac for two channel

I get the distinct impression that Helen Barber isn't really that interested in advice per se. She just wants people to nod and agree.

Here's what actually happened.

Psycho acoustics.

Unless her AVR amp stages were clipping (they wouldn't be) she's added the power amp, turned up the music slightly louder than would have done before and perceived a better sound. The DACS and pre amp sections are exactly the same.

BUT if you hear a better sound you hear a better sound so it doesn't matter.

OP is very impatient which makes helping impossible.
