Chaoss, a big thanks again for showing us the Rift, mate. It's an amazing piece of kit and everything I'd hoped it might be at this stage. I'm now keen for the rumoured 1080p dev kit, if I can get over the guilt factor of taking one of these away from a real developer. I'm eager to see what you will inevitably do with the unit, as you've obviously got the skill set to produce some very cool experiences for Rift adopters.
For the record, my wife and I were taken through a series of demonstrations in the Rift (my favourite being a level designed by Chaoss himself) and not hit over the head or anything like that. Granted, the area around Islington isn't London's best, but the pub conversation with Chaoss was warm and interesting and the tech demonstrations (including the famous roller coaster and a two-story house Chaoss had custom built for the Rift in Unity) were like getting hit with a bucket of water; truly breath-taking. In conclusion, I would say that this technology is simply something you've got to experience with your own eyes to fully understand it.
Gaming is about to soar into the VR space for real (and, I suspect, finally has enough clout to stick around for good). Get ready, folks. This is going to be one hell of a ride.
