Hi,

the company I work at uses a phone system which uses the Avaya IPOffice Phonemanager software. We need to get some statistics off it (such as number of calls coming in/out etc) and I was wondering if its possible to get this information using the ODBC driver. Could someone let me know if it is possible to do this or not

Thanks

I have taken the System Admin course for this phone system and i havent come across this sort of thing. You can view the current statistics using the IP Office System Status. It will show all active calls outgoing and incoming.

I'm about 90% sure you cant extract the In/Out/Missed Calls from PhoneManager.

Ok, thanks for that..I don't know if it makes much difference but I have been told that we need to know how many incoming and outgoing calls we get per day, obviously (if this can be done) I would be doing it from the server. Its for our sales manager.

We used call logging software called TIM which was good

there is also others like elephant, oak etc

I also believe from system manager you can export to CSV, which then you could import into MS Access and do whatever

Or if you know a VB whizz they could manipulate the data

AFAIK, the IP Office in its smaller versions is sitting on an MSDE database, basically a stripped and ripped version of MS SQL.

If that is the case, you just need a user account (with read only priviledge) and then you can setup and ODBC connection and pull data into Excel or Access for example - once there you can do whatever you need.

I've worked on Mitel and Nortel systems but not Avaya so you should probably hold on for some advice from an actual user.

To be honets though, there shoudl be simple enough reporting built in to it and I'd check that the functionality you require isn't hidden away someplace. If the system is maintained I'd ask your support company for a few confirmations of what it is capable of.
