Average Computer/Server Crashes per Month/Year

It all depends on whether you're talking a single box or a system that is made up of multiple boxes with resilient redundancy paths.

When I worked for HP the main DWP system I supported was available 30 thousand hours per year and averaged 8 hours unscheduled downtime each year - that's 99.986% availability - however system problems and server crashes occurred fairly regularly but due to the resiliency the client was rarely impacted and hence the crashes did not result in a system outage.

I thought that crashes were a thing of the past.

Seriously, when did XP64 come out?

Well, I got the trial version of it, and only my USB modem and Epson C42 printer didnt work, everything else did, so I got new modem and printer and then went 64Bit full time.

Vista was not nice to me and so I stayed with XP64 till Win7 came out.

Been there ever since and moved all my PCs over from 2K, XP and XP64 over the next year and a bit and I am happy to say that I simply dont have a single crash of any kind, on ANY of my PCs.

I have 15 of them, and 7 Laptops ( Yeah I know, I'm a hoarder )
