Average WC Cost

Hi Ch3m, have you tried mounting your pumps on foam, my res-pump combo vibrates a little so l mounted mine on foam, stops the vibrations coming through the case. If you can still hear the fans even though they are quite quiet turn some of them off, as your custom loop is not that dependent on case cooling, as long as you have some air flow your ok.

nah I havent mate, they are on some silicon mount things, which are on a plate. could possibly fit some foam in there but meh. Turning all fans off cept PSU one leaves the case with the same amount of noise, so it could also be the 13 hard drives lol.

Anyone WC'd their ram :D ?

I know someone who did, along with their motherboard, CPU, and graphics card. Only very briefly with a glass full of orange squash, though. If I recall it was extremely expensive, so it doesn't come recommended. :p

i bought my parts from the MM and then from OCUK spent around £150-£170?

Wish i stuck to air cooling now. ;p

Do you mind if I ask why? I'm another person keeping a close eye on this thread, as I think my next build will end up water cooled.

Anyone WC'd their ram :D ?

I always want to, but havent looked into it enough and blocks are expensive from koolance. If I had dominator RAM then I could get a WC block for them straight away and itd be easier, but I dont want to spend that much money on the RAM lol.

Having bought DDR400 cas 2.5 for £215 for 2gb, then DDR3 1600Mhz for £480 for 8gb I no longer like purchasing expensive RAM :(

If your ram does not get to hot why bother, the NB on the Gig x58-UD5 gets a bit toasty, so l just fixed a small fan over it, cheaper than watercooling it, so l just got the CPU + GPU H2o cooled.

Most ram only gets hot when there is no air flow in the case so i wouldn't recommend doing this too.

Edit: Looking at your system it would be

x2 Ek hf supreme= £104
x2 6690 block =£200
pump top + res =£100
It's not gonig to be cheap then taking into conclusion you would need about x2 360 rads, fans, fittings & tubing. :o

Some people don't know that ram can actually get hot with no airflow and there is no need for such a negative post is there really?

Ah, cry wolf when l have a little big at you, it was different the other day.

Theres PC,S in hotter climates than the uk and they work just fine, not every body mods thier PC better fans, CPU heatsinks, etc, to cool thier components down. Some DDR3 can operate to about 85'c and l dare say other DDR3 manufactures will not be far of that to.

Kingston HyperX
KHX1600C9S3K2/8G
8GB (4GB 512M x 64-Bit x 2 pcs.)
DDR3-1600MHz CL9 204-Pin SODIMM Kit
• Operating Temperature: 0o C to 85o C

How mature of you to carry on something from the other day that wasn't even aimed directly at you i wouldn't expect that from a 55 year old. You keep holding that grudge.
I would think that the recommended specs are with cooling, it's like me saying oh bloomfields can run upto 100c then running the cpu overclocked with no airflow over it.

I think the word your looking for is " How > immature < of you.

would have awarded you a Blue Peter Badge for improving your command of english grammer, but you phrased your opening wrong "How mature of you.

imhro, l tried to stop it at post #15 the other day with a joke, but you carried on, so who's the immature one, well l'm glad to say your command of english grammer has in proved from the other day at least.

How come you quote me in your reply, which does imply me in your answer, but you try to get out of jail free card > that wasn't even aimed directly at you. When l 1st pulled you about it, you said the same. But when l proved you wrong you answered Yes.

.

I was just adding to your point not trying to prove you wrong or anything simply trying to give the op further advice/information while you say it as a chance to pick on me.

The irony of your post about grammar/spelling the other day. It's always sad when members have to point out grammatical mistakes when having a discussion.
Here we go again, why is it some members get the umbridge if you can't spell right or have a good command of english, now what you should put in your reply. l thought a forum was a place where folks meet who shared and gave advice, joked no matter what and made freinds.. Regardless of of colour, religon, lol their spelling, etc. Is it a big deal at the end of the day? lol the grammer nazi's have been quiet for some time.
TOLD
Anyway i'm done with your posting on to my ignore list you go.

O, how the truth hurts, theres two over replies telling him not to H2o his ram and you don't Quote them.

If you were backing me up why did you not put > +1 or say you agreed with me. As you did the other day with koowees reply about me, does that ring a bell.

You talk about been mature l'v had other people have had a big at me and l at them but most members just get over it and carry on though nothing has happened thats being mature not immature like you are being now, god help you when you enter the real world of grown ups > Boo Hoo.

Anyway back on topic it can be done for about £250 thats CPU and GPU with a triple RAD, thats going for barbs (instead of compression fittings), a cheap pump/res combo and some cheap fans to go push/pull (yate loons ..can get 6 of these for the price of 2 £15 fans that are so popular for some reason)

Hi Sayso, what one are you going to use > XSPC X20 D750 Res: Combo, if you are l'v been using one for about 9 month and can't say l'v had any problems.

I've got less water-cooling on my current setup than when I setup initially.

I bought for a quiet system and water-cooled CPU, gfx and mobo chipsets.

Roughy current build:

2x pa 120.3 - £130
2x d5 vario - £150
Ek gfx card block - £100
Ek supreme hf - £50
2x bay res - £30
2x ek d5 x tops - £50
Tubing and fixings - £50

That's pretty much what I've got running now.

Would have been able do do it's for much less by just having one loop but I wanted low noise and I'm happy I've achieved my goal.
