I am currently doing a pc rebuild with a black and yellow colour scheme. I've seen some Avexir memory that would look good with the build, but I have never heard of them before.. Does anyone rate them?

Avexir MPower Yellow Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit (AVD3U16000904G-2CM)

I got the memory you are on about and its awesome

Looks good, runs smooth and overclockable

I've run 4x4gb for the past 10 months & the only change I had to make is to bump the memory controller voltage very slightly for them to be 100% stable at 2133mhz

Great memory for the price, & looks good. (I have the red leds)

using 4 sitcks will put a larger stress on the memory controller on the cpu when overclocking and can lead to lower overclocks and instability... stick with 2 x 4gb sticks like me

Got a set of the 4x4GB 2400Mhz C10's myself. First set died in 3 months and the second set refused to work with my 4930k, even bricked the windows install completely. Put it in my 4690k build and it's fine. Can't figure that one out at all.

Avexir are amongst some of the most reliable brands out there, iirc they were even hand testing their memory at one point (may still be doing it, perhaps only on higher speed ones).

Most likely your 4930K had a weaker IMC and couldn't cope with the higher speeds. Unless you were running them at the stock IB-E speeds - 1866 or 1600MHz. Haswell and Haswell-E CPUs generally have far stronger IMCs with most chips capable of 2666+.
