A complete and utter idiot (as is anyone who tries similar scams on the police).

At worst a speeding offence is likely to lead to a few points (possibly a short ban) and a fine - something that can normally be worked around and usually won't massively affect your long term prospects.
Lying to the court on the other hand, as shown in that case tends to be viewed a lot more seriously, and leads to a conviction that is seriously going to hamper future prospects and even holiday plans.

Thats a bit harsh, i am by no means defending the idiot but people get less than that for things which are lots worse in my opinion.

He should know about one of his cousins killing a little girl in Burnley, no tax insurance or even a license yet got away with it, and was then caught driving and speeding again and didn't get much of a sentence.

These people are an absolute waste of space over a few quid

Erm, lot of people are doing it and many are faster than this! Seen it everyday on roads in Northern Ireland...

I was kind of expecting some extreme speedings but from what I was reading, although a bit careless, I guess he was a bit unlucky. :confused:
