Not bad a for rugby town, I had the same discussion with Nokkokwud, Wigan is not a normal town its split by rugby league fans and football fans, back in the 90s Wigan Athletic where the underdogs nobody went to the games, you would only get 3k at a game, yet Wigan Rugby would get 16k+ even at the same ground the rugby gets more fans than the football.
Strange old town. Wigan has gone from a non league team in 1977 to a premiership team with the funding of a Wigan businessman, reminds of the old days of football.
