Awesome dad is awesome...

What you need to do is apply for housing benefit to pay the fictional rent your dad charges you. The benefits people will pay "your rent" direct to your dad. Then your dad gets the mortgage paid for as well. It's not a scam it's perfectly legal. Due to a shortage of social housing this type of (fiddle) massaging of the rules is common.

I pay my way through life but if you are entitled to some thing I'm all for you getting it. As for work shy scrounges, I wouldn't give them my scrap metal let alone a lift to the pub on my way to work!

Congratulations!

Cool thing for your dad to do, are you an only child? Him using the the money from the old family home and spending it on you is really great, and wise.

JSA is not for Sky HD and infinity broadband. This is what is wrong with society.

This

I have a good job and don't own a tv license, why on earth people think they
-need- a tv let alone sky is beyond me!!!

Paying every month for tv ?!?!?!?!?!?!? Are you kidding me ?!?! The tv license cost alone is a total joke, stuff that, the rare occasion some one makes something decent I'll buy the DVD/blue ray thank you! Saved me £1000's

So much failing at life in this thread omg. Get a god damn job TODAY.
YES, it is that easy, anyone telling you otherwise is either lazy or feels they are too good to work for money.

Oh BTW, awesome dad is not awesome. He may have your best interests at heart but if he actually understood what was going on he should kick you out on the street with nothing whatsoever. Awesome dad is stupid.

I don't think there's possibly any other country in the world where people get £53 a week to spend on a top speed Internet packages and a top of the range TV/Cable subscriptions.

There is so much I would love to say about your OP - but at the moment I am just so deflated thinking about all the people here that think there is nothing wrong with it.

I honestly don't know what this country is coming to....when people can't genuinely see a problem with someone boasting about how awesome his dad is paying for his mortgage, claiming JSA and saying he can now relax - have SkyHD and Infinity and basically disown his mother.

Do people seriously not see a problem with that ????

All I can say is - WOW - just Wow.

some proper numptys on here, jelous, hating geek filled fools.

the guy can spend whatever he likes on sky.

Ah the old jealousy card, not quite as dramatic as the race card or the sexism card but still quite lolworthy.

Unfortunately this - as Detroit Waves already posted, your dad is unfortunately not going to be around forever, and it sounds like you are in for a major shock when you have to provide for yourself!

Anyway, enjoy the Sky HD for now, I know how nice it is to chill out on the sofa after a hard day's wor... oh wait ;)

To all of you stating "the money isnt his" it clearly is as the benefits people have given it to him.

OP also stated he has worked in the past, no doubt paying into the benefits pot.

So I've worked now solid for the past 7 years or so, house with mortgage, BB, Bills and I get fired/made redundant. I claim JSA while I look for a job.....

Everyone gonna go all benefits nazi on me despite me paying into the whole thing thru PAYING tax??

It's not as if OP is a chronic dole scrounge now is it?
Jesus wept people get some perspective.

One thing tho OP, I hope you've told them yer missus lives with ya.
Good luck with the job searching :)

* <== have a star for spectacularly missing the point. JSA is for living on whilst you find work. It is NOT for sky TV. Broadband I can accept, the internet is a great tool for job searching.

Frankly looking for work should be a full time occupation, not the pathetic current requirement of two applications a week or whatever it is just to keep your benefits.

You should be spending all of you time looking for an applying for jobs. Any spare time you have should be spend volunteering and getting experience and entries for your CV.
