** AWESOME Intel SSD pricing ** See inside for details!

I was waiting for the 128gb Crucual M4 to drop a little before I pulled the trigger, but now these are on offer they are very tempting.

Real world performance minimal difference between the two I assume? I take it these Intel ones have a low failure rate as well?

I already have a 64GB Crucial for my OS, but it is running out of space since I lumped BF3 onto it. Had to move the pagefile off it last night onto a mechanical drive. :(

Whats the reason then

Actually things would not be as hush hush as i was lead to believe and the information seems to be available on the net.

Full story here: http://www.bit-tech.net/news/hardware/2012/03/02/intel-sells-nand-to-micron/1

Jist: Intel has sold a large quantity of its NAND manufacturing facility to Micron. So rather than have a drive designed and completely manufactured by Intel it will largely produced by Micron. So it looks as if Intel are reducing their exposure in the SSD market.

My :( was that i ONLY use Intel drives and the possibility of them stopping manufacturing them leaves me sad as, in my opinion, they are the most reliable SSD on the market with the best support should an issue occur.

umm mods/admins, out of topic i know, but can i suggest something for the website? lol
could you add a clear basket option in the view basket page, makes it a lot simpler (and easier) to clear baskets when speccing for the forums ;p

ty

ps: nice deals on the intel ssd, about time...really

If you use Chrome as your browser then CTRL + SHIFT + N opens an "Incognito" window where none of your browsing history is saved. If you need to do more than one spec per session then you have to close off the entire incognito window and start the mode again.

On Firefox it's CTRL + SHIFT + P, where they call it "Private Browsing".

Not sure about the shortcuts for Internet Explorer or Safari but they do have the same feature somewhere.

Haha, awesome pricing but i find it funny how ocuk staff big this right up aswel.

It's almost to the point of being cheesy... almost.
