First, a bit of background:
A guy called Rob is studying automotive engineering at Cardiff.
His old car was a road rally-prepped Chevette which he built up from stock into a 1300cc screamer.
I have to say that the guy is an absolute legend - he crashed it and within a week, he had replaced all the panels, fitted turrets, repainted the entire car (THRICE!) and had it back on the road.
A couple of months later, there was a bit of valve/piston interferance (ouch) and within 24 hours he had located a new engine, done a 300-odd mile round trip to pick it up, swapped all his trick bits into it, rebored it, fitted it and was back on the road.
He sold it last year (for £2,250 - not seen a small-engine shuv go for that much. Ever.) and got a Skoda Estelle 130 to replace it:
30k from new, mint condition, he planned to fit it with a newer engine on bike throttle bodies and DIY EFI, strip it out and use the project for his final project at uni.
A couple of days ago, he announced that he was selling the skud...And I've been guessing why....
Buuuuuuuut....
