Awesome MX5

The red one appears to be the result of a Viper and an MX-5 cross breading. Though I somewhat doubt it has a V10 under the bonnet :(.

The yellow one has a hint of 612 about it.

I don't like the lights on the yellow one, otherwise looks very nice.
Bit of a shame that Mazda never stuffed a good v6 in one, though I've seen a US aftermarket conversion with one.

i really like the red one. are these not available then or what?

They are aftermarket modifications by a japanese company for the JDM. They do start life as a standard MX5. I am sure you could import one.

Not a million miles away on the looks front, if you ask me. :)

I personally don't see the point of fitting that V8, its only putting out 175 / 185bhp if i remember right, sure it will sound fantastic but if i was going to the effort of doing a conversion i would stick in an RX7 / RX8 lump, now that would FLY!

That's why I went the turbo route rather than the V6 shoe-horn transplant. :)

that and the weight issues i assume, wacking a (even small) v6 under the hood will drastically effect the weight distribution, a very bad thing on such a well ballanced car!

so how much then Will? come on, we neeeeeeed to know :)

Little point like you said sam, the 1.8 is good for 650BHP as someone has proven recently, thats a mental amount of power!

How much for what? :)

Everything? :p

It's a damned shame MGR went bust before putting this into production:

With a V6 in the back it might have been a really great car.
