Mitts are great for certain things, but I don't want to look like I'm off to fight a bear in the arctic when I'm just walking 25 mins to work

You can get gloves but these are warmer!
I tend to look like Nanook of the North on my walk to work, I like being warm.

Do you actually feel the cold or is it just the cracking of the skin that is an issue? As un-manly as it is, are there not some creams you can use?

Get those gloves that are like normal finger gloves on the inside, but mittens on the outside.

To all of you saying man up and etc, some people have dry skin that cracks really easily, I don't know about you but I wouldn't want bleeding knuckles whilst walking to town/work.

My skin cracks easily, and start bleeding... I just man up again.

I laugh at the people who say to man up. It must be easy to endure the cold when you have a thick insulating layer of blubber, but some of us aren't fat.

As girly as it is, moisturising like mad helps stop my hands splitting when it gets cold. I used to have to get steroid cream, aqueous cream and various other things from my doctor when I was younger, because they split so badly they used to start getting infected and weep pus, but they're not as bad anymore so now I just use moisturiser... in a really manly way of course.

It also makes my hands as soft as a velvet pillow, but saying that would make me sound fruity.

Oi, I'm not fat I'm big boned.

Quite honestly though, I prefer the cold... I was standing in the pouring rain earlier waiting for someone for 20 minutes.. Everyone around me with coats and umbrellas etc. Also I'm used to getting up at like 5-6am and going out (throughout Winter as well) at around 2celcious I then say 'Im cold' becuase it's when I give a shiver off once in a while. Would never wear a hat, gloves or scarf though.
