Azureus crash

Moved from azur to Utorrent last week & even tho i had not set my port forwarding for it yet and had yellow triangle, i had a faster download than i ever had with Azur which was all setup right.

Um.

I personally perfer uTorrent. I can game and download at the same time however I still don't, as gaming suffers (not cpu related)

uTorrent has an option to schedule which I find is very nifty.

As for speeds on a private site I can get 700/800KBps down.

same here, i get 1100kb/s+ on good torrents

I know this threads a few days old but rather than start another, whats upload speed do people recommend for utorrent on an NTL 10meg connection?

Had a read on the NET and some say 18kbs ?

That too low do we think?

doesn't affect download speeds (that i know of) in utorrent?

can leave it at 6 if you like

i set mine to 10-15, depending what type of torrents i'm getting, if its a linux iso and not many people have it at 100%, i'll whack it up to 15 so they get it quicker

I though upload was directly related to download?

As in if I set upload to 200kbs it would strangle my download?

Will try less then :)

I moved from Azureus to Utorrent some time ago, And prefer it.

Azureus when I used it relied on Microsun Java, So when checking resources consumed, Dont just look at azurues, Look at Java too, As you have to add them together to see total used resources.

Utorrent, Is fast and easy to use. And to say that Azureus encryption is better than Utorrents. Can I ask how considering both use the same protocol encrption? It was a join venture between both software developers.

If there are tools within azureus that make it better then fine. But if you use Utorrent as just a simple downloading client, Then the extra tools arent needed surely. For my own clarification, what are the tools within azureus that make it so much better?

Simply put, When my computer had 512mb RAM I moved away from azureus because it caused my system to lag, When I had Utorrent running on that same system, You couldnt tell it was running, Other than it slowed browsing speeds. Not my computer For the Lose, Azureus the resource hog for the lose. You shouldnt need more than 512mb RAM to run a client.

Do a speed test, Using a server in the UK, If you are from the UK :p

And then set your upload speed, to 80% of whats stated :)

Well - I play an online web based game...

Slow browsing speeds = Expensive mistakes in game.

Az doesn't hurt my system performance - I don't notice it running.
I DO notice the internet slowing down though.

For ME, Az > uTorrent.
For you, uTorrent > Az.

Neither is "FTL".
