I was browsing OC Site the other day. Wats B Grade mena? Returned items? Unwanted? or just simply end of line? thinking of doubling up my 4850 with the Gainward one they have there.

Oh look, it's this thread again.

Generally items with damaged packaging, missing things such as cables, or items which have been fixed by the manufacturer. The key product will work though.

Though if you want the specifics about a particular product then you're better ringing the store.

B-Grade
Usually returned items.
They may be missing minor bits like manuals, CDs, cables etc.
You would need to contact OcUK to find out the exact condition of a b-grade item.

Clearance
End of line.
Should be as new.

Customer returns, warranty repaired, probably arrive in a plain box with no items ect, but some people have had good deals.

The core product is there and work,s but you may have no accessories.

iirc you can send them a webnote/post in the customer support forum etc about a specific product for more details.

I have had a good deal from it. £30 for an SLI mobo that is still the core of my WHS system. Came with nothing but the board. No IO shield, no cables no manual, just anti-static bag, bubble wrap and a plain brown box.

sorry if the question has been posted before :(

thank you for answering tho

might give it a miss then. well ill give them a call to double check the status if they still have it when im ready to buy a set of components in the very near future

most of the time you cant get any specific details about specific B-grade items.
Iv had a few, they are always working and as new, usually returned or whatever for whatever picky reason.

What is it you're thinking of buying, if you don't mind me asking ?

If it's something like a motherboard it will probably just be damaged box/missing cables. I bought a B-Grade HDD over a year ago and it still works fine to this day, saved myself around £25 on that.

If the product doesn't work OcUK will refund it anyway so if it's a significant saving you may aswell go ahead with it.

Why don't you just get this one? It's cheaper and brand new.

Again, B Grade has nothign to do with the product itself, only it's packaging or package contents (cables, connectors etc).

You can't sell faulty products, so rest assured they're all tested extensively.
