B-Grade Hard Dribe

I believe all 'B' grade harddrives are manufacturer refurbs. If you buy one then the label will show that it is a refurb.

I can confirm they are fully working drives. They are refurbed to brand new working condition but generally at half the price making them great bargains for you.:)

OcUK supply a 14 day warranty with the drive. There may be a remainder of warranty left on the drive but every single B-Grade drive is different and so we can't guarantee this.

Yes but the question is what is so special about these b-grade hard dribe :p

I've brought a few b grade drives and they have always been fine. :)

That needs changing on the description then as these b-grades currently have 5 years according to the site.

Agreed, was about to buy a pair of these after seeing this:

- Capacity: 1TB
- Cache: 32MB
- Interface: SATA-II
- Spin Speed: 7200RPM
- Seek Time: 8.5ms
- Warranty: 5 Years

But I certainly don't want to risk it to a 14 day warranty.

So assuming they werent made 5 years ago, there is the remainder of the manufacturers warranty on all drives . . . .

Indeed, most of the hard drive makers websites you can put the serial number into and check the warranty on the individual hard drives.

surely the 5 years starts from the date you purchased the drive and not from the date that is on the drive label?

Yes that should be the law don't understand how manufacturers get away with things like this.

Its a manufacturers warranty offered in addition to any warranty covered by consumer law. I not sure how anybody can conplain about getting 4-5 years warranty its more than enough, if you want to add complexities to that then the product price will have to go up, something has to give!

The point being made is that you could buy a drive that's been sat in a warehouse for 2 years, and you'll only get 3 years warranty going by the serial number.
