Don't bother upgrading from an 8800GTS 320 to the x38x0 series. The ATI cards are faster, but not noticeably. The same applies for 8800GT > GTS 320.

I speak from experience.

I've gone from 8800GTS 640, 2900XT to an 8800GT and the 8800GT is much faster than the GTS 640 apart from 16xAA in TDU and Dirt...

Which card is the one in the sales section, is it the same as the one in the actual picture?

Triplex HD3870 PCI-E
I reckon that's the one I just bought, not happy with it though

tried it on XP and server2k3, and getting artifacts on 3Dmark05
tried it with AoE3 demo, same thing.
tried drivers from triplex website and ATI, same thing.


Has anyone got a driver that works for them ?

Worringly, their website only lists XP/2K/Me...

running it on Asrock 4CoreDual-SATA2 + Q6600
but for those asking, it's pretty quiet and cool, even with it's tiny heatsink, RAM is cool too

reckon I've solved this:

the Asrock 4CoreDual-SATA2 has a few issues with lots of Radeon GPU's like the 3870.
Updating the BIOS from 1.60 to 1.90 appears to have fixed them.

AoE3 demo now runs OK without artifacting

I have a triplex 3850, picture below, runs at about 30c idle when not overclocked (I have overclocked it a bit and it now runs at 36c approx idle).

It is relatively quiet (not noisey or whiny). It is perhaps a touch more noisier than my old HIS ICEQ X1900XT

received this card 4 days ago but cant get it to work in the 16x pcie slot of my board (works in the 4x slot).

where do i stand on returning it; do i rma or return under distance selling? whats the difference?

this card is really growing on me, it might be ugly but i've just been playing crysis at all high settings with no aa @ 1600x1050 and that on my 4x speed slot, really hope my new psu fixes the problem i'm having with the 16x slot.
