Hi,

Just wondering what peoples thougts were on the B grade section since I just bought a 7950 sapphire oc edition for my new build for 250quid which i couldnt resist at that price. A steal I think...

Anyone with any good / bad experiences using the clearance section?
 
I advised a friend who got a card that had all the thermal pads removed and gave them no end of issues until they took it to a local shop....

So just examine it closely when you get it.
 
Remember that they're cards that have been returned for some reason, whether it be they're awful clockers, have severe coil whine, or you may be lucky and the person may just have had buyers remorse.

Either way, as Meaker says, just make sure you examine it very closely for any defects as they offer minuscule warranties on the B-Grade cards for a reason...
 
I also got a 7950 for 250 quid, a b grade twin frozr :D
Box was a bit damaged but card was fine, have all accessories etc.

Don't know why it was returned, I've put an Antec kuhler on it and a few heat sinks and I can bench at 1275/1800 which is overclocked 680 performance. Hope you are lucky with your card and have as much fun with yours as I have. I don't think I could have got better bang for buck, 3gb of ram to boot :cool:
 
Some people just return the card and its perfect. Im about to return my MSI 7850. Clocks pretty good and will be as new for whoever buys it in b grade.
 
I'm cautious with B grades due to lack of warranties, but a good manufacturer will hopefully accept a direct RMA so I may snap up a deal in the future.

No, but I did expect it to at least get to 1050 :D:D:D:D It failed, and failed HARD. Oh, and sorry for being pedantic (seems a common trait here) but it doesn't actually say 'up to'.
Anyway, I returned it (yep, it's actually my legal right within 7 days) and got a Powercolor PCS+ from OCUKs parent company. Now that overclocks like a crazy thing :-)

This is what i want to hear :). Hopefully I get lucky with mine too. If the card arrives tommorrow il post back how i get on. 680 performance for 250quid would be great just a pity I have to wait til next payday for a better cpu mobo and ram.
 
The reason why they are b-grade is quite varied - sometimes its just the box got spoiled in the shop other times they are RMA replacements, etc.

I'd say 70-80% of the stuff is fine but there is the odd problematic item.
 
Bought several items on b-grade never had a problem and can quite often save a lot of money, motherboards especially have been good b-grade items.

Last thing I bought was the GTX 580 and it registered with Full EVGA warranty. Was brand new gold contacts untouched.
 
Most of the time it's just an rma/changed mind i.e. open box, nothing more - and stuff had to get checked on return. Only cavet is under the dsr ocuk have to accept incomplete returns e.g. motherboards missing a backplate or an absent manual because someone spilt coffee on it.

Golden rule is just use a cc to order and check on receipt. Ocuks costumer service is rather good though, so problems are unlikely :) Safer than ebay at any rate :p

I'd assumed it'd only overclocked 40% or something and you still weren't happy.
