As per title, looking to quieten down my Antec 300 as i've heavily overclocked and the 120mm fans are running at full speed which makes them really loud.

I'm thinking of buying a big sheet of say, 10-12mm adhesive stuff to custom cut and stick around the inside panels.

I'd love to hear from people who have done this, pictures would be a massive bonus too.

Cheers.

You can get a dampening kit already cut to size for the Antec 300 from OcUK but it's going to have a limited impact on the noise tbh. What sort of fans are you using and have you considered a fan controller?

Aye, you can get foam to help with the noise, but you're probably best off looking at the main noise areas first, as the foam will damp ambient noise inside the case, but won't do much for noise from things like the airflow, or that is carried with the airflow.
IE soundproofing materials are more likely to help with something like a noise CPU fan, or hard drives, than with case fans that are open to the outside.

I'm actually disapointed at how noisy my antec sonata is compared to the Coolermaster 690's i've recently built systems in, the Sonata is sold as a quiet case (which it is), but because it's small it requires more active cooling, using smaller fans than the 690, which means it's creating more noise to begin with.

In your case depending on the fans you're using, you might do well to try and find fans with a similar airflow, but lower noise level.

The 300 will only take 120mm fans though, apart from the top one which I think is 140mm (?).

Would I be O.K buying a sheet off the bay or going to an auto place and cutting it to fit? Also i'm assuming that the dense stuff won't be as good for noise as the quite foamy material.
