Hi All

I have the opportunity to buy a B&W system to replace my Q Acoustics 1000i but the problem I have is with the rear 686's and a suitable stand. I have 2 very vibrant cats who walk/jump across the rear speakers (not a lot I can do about this, I will find some material to cover the tops of the speakers so they don't damage them) and with the Q Acoustics this is not a problem as the speakers bolt to the stands however as I understand it the 686's have no screw holes to bolt into anything. The recommended (well, from a cheaper point of view) stands such as Atacama Nexus the speakers just sit on top with the recommendation of using some blue tack to secure them as much as they can be.

My question really is: Is this the best I can expect without wall mounting? Anyone seen any stands that will secure these speakers any better than some blue tack?

Thanks in advance.

Blu-tack is surprisingly strong after a day or so with a heavy speaker on it.
I hold my speakers on their stands with it and they ain't going anywhere- and my cats also love sitting on them.

Had to sand-fill the stands though- more likely the whole lot would go over rather than the speaker coming off the stand!

Blu-tack on mine too. Usually have some difficulty separating the speaker from the stand if I change them over for a different pair.
