My nice new ps3 provides only black and white for Blu Rays. Games and DVDs are fine.

Is there a setting somewhere to fix this, I have looked around the net and seen that many people have had a similar problem.

I am using a tele I bought in 2000 and it was cheep then. which may be the cause of the problem, it has only one scart and and the normal aerial port. So I am using the basic cables that come with the console.

I know the best solution is to go out and buy a nice big HDMI LCD to make the most of the console, it is on my list of stuff to get.

I have only two blu rays (neither of them are James Bond), they came as part of the bundle so I am not especially worried if there is no solution for now.

Does anyone have a work around

Thanks

Sounds like your telly might not be capable of handling an NTSC signal, that usually results in a B&W picture. If that is the case, then you'll probably need a new telly :(

If your not using a HDTV (And connecting through at least component) there's not much point in watching Blu-Rays anyway.

The films were free, so a good point of watching blu-rays on at crap quality, is that it is better than not watching at all or having to buy films on DVD that I already own on a better format.

I figured as much, have wanted one for a while, it seems the perfect partner for my new console anyway. Maybe next pay day.

I second that. A friend of mine had exactly the same problem - it was his old telly.
