Morning,

I'm finally upgrqading from my old 2500k setup which has been running overclocked forever. I game mostly, just got a 1660 Super.

Was looking to probably spend around £100 on a mobo, and get either a 2600x or 2700x. Choices are plentiful and confusing!

Was considering the Gigabyte Auros Pro b450 because of two m2s, provided heatsinks for them (fancy having an M2, no real reason why!). Have read concerns about the VRM heat on these boards though.

Other options include the MSI tomahawk.

Is it worth getting a 450 chipset now or should I really be looking to spend more and get a few more features. I don't regularly upgrade system-wise these days (as you can tell as I still have the 2500k!) so don't see much need to change CPU for years.

Thanks

MSI Tomahawk Max has been demonstrated to be the best board of the 400lines regarding VRMs temps and ability to cope and power the big boy processors.
If going for the Tomahawk, get the MAX.

Superb board. You can drop a 3900/3950 in and it'll run it well.

I have just ordered the Tomahawk MAX board and im about to order either a 3700X or 3800X to pair up with it. I dont need all the fancy bits and pieces , just something that works well.
