The average person doesn't have 25 devices to use it on so it's a poor way to compare costs. In any case, the current most popular desktop platform and the topic in this thread uses the AM4 platform which is 40mmx40mm, so you would only get 4 usable applications from it. That would be £5 per application using your math. You ignored the fact that most good coolers already come with a tube of thermal paste that will probably be good for the lifetime of the cooler. Also, 1-2 degrees do matter.
