How about "The crap CoD"
Gilly, do you like the GTA games? If so, Saints Row 2, GTA IV and Crackdown are excellent games if you're after another genre.

That's a shame, it's a great game.
I'd also recommend Stardust HD and warhawk but not too sure Gilly-pants would like them

Killzone 2
Resistance 1 and 2: Number 1 was a PS3 launch game, so the graphics won't be fantastic anymore, also it starts off a little slow, but it's great later on, and a must before playing it's sequel which is fantastic.
Uncharted: Probably my favorite game this generation(Except MGS4) it's definitely a must, and considering there's a sequel on the way, You'd be best to jump in asap.
Bioshock: I find this to personally be a marmite game, I didn't enjoy it, But i am most definitely in the minority! So considering it's price tag lately, I'd pick this up too just to see if you're a lover or a hater

Gonna have a walk out this aft and see what's available and what prices they're coming for. Even though I enjoyed Modern Warfare so much, and the online play adds another dimension, if I'd paid £50 for it (which is the price sticker on the box) I'd be gutted at finishing it in the time I did.

I think there are probably a couple of things here. I think as you get older, you actually notice how longs games are and attribute more of a value to the length of a game. Also if you've been out of the gaming loop for a little while you might has missed on a bit of a shift to there being a lot more focus on the online multiplayer side of things. I think the effort put into some of the multiplayer aspects definitely detracts from the single player campaigns.
Theres obviously always the contributing factor that these are popular, high selling franchises and they need to ensure theres a new one out each holiday season and they need to turn them round quickly.
all the ps3 fans are boosting there fav game but it takes me an xbox owner to scream wipeout!!

Nah, it has various difficulty settings, the hardest settings are mental and imo near impossible, the easier settings are a doddle though.
Don't buy Wipeout, as Sony is starting to put adverts into it despite the premium price. There's just been a controversy over the adverts doubling the loading times too. They've been recently removed due to public backlash but Sony wants them back in.
Boycott the game just out of principle, because it's a horrible and backhanded approach and nobody should be supporting it.

The only advertisement I have ever seen was for wipeout fury, And that was in the middle of a loading screen when I would just be staring at the loading bar anyway, calm down man
That would be because they've been taken down almost as soon as they went up - if people like myself followed your advice and not said anything about it you would be stuck with double loading times.
