So due to a fault in my building Virgin are cancelling my contract as they can no longer provide me service which means no more cable for me. Unfortunately BT cable isn't available for me either so only options are through a phone line, which according to Sam Knows are:

BT Wholesale ADSL
O2 / Be LLU
Bulldog LLU
TalkTalk (CPW) LLU
Sky Broadband / Easynet LLU
Virgin Media (Cable)

Really kinda out of a loop with ADSL providers so advise would be appreciated on what I can pick, kinda leaning towards Sky now as they have the best offer financially, but wondering what their FUP like?

At peak times there's up to 4 machines connected to it and we watch a lot of Youtube, BBCi player, etc so relatively heavy usage but there's virtually no torrents so a fair FUP would be nice.

Sky LLU is hard to beat for the price. Provided they have LLU availability then it's hard to go wrong with it. I've been on it for years and never had a single problem with speeds or ever heard a mention of FUP.

Why won't Virgin fix the issue?

But yeah, if you have to go ADSL then Sky LLU is the best bet. No FUP, throttling, port blocking, download caps, etc. They actually are 'truly unlimited'.

According to the customer relations chap some sort of fault developed in my block of flats due to recent flooding and equipment needs replacing. Their story is that they can't get hold of the managing company/landlord of the building and have no ETA whatsoever for the fix because of that. No idea if that's true or they just don't deem it economical but either way the cable service isn't available anymore, even when I select my address through their website it's now showing that they don't service my address.

Which exchange?

NEWAS.

Yeah so basically not cable for my address from anyone. In the end went for Sky as they seem truly unlimited and have some good offers, including half price free BB for six months (still pay for phone line), M&S voucher and Quidco.
