What is the best back to black product (or method)? Sorry if this has been asked a lot, I did search but didn't find anything.

Back to black

or shoe polish

Do people actually use this on modern cars? i thought it was for like really older gen cars that used to have like plastic arch trims and stuff?

Used Gtechniq C4 Trim restorer on some 20year old faded black trim, lasted less than a year. Currently have a bottle of Solution Finish Trim Restorer and their bottle of sealer, although I think you can ceramic coat on top instead if you're already coating the rest of the car. Will see how long this one lasts...

However, from all reviews I've watched, cerekote always came out the winner, not sure why I've not tried that yet

What for ?

When I had a mk2 golf gti with lots and lots of faded plastic arches and bumpers I tried all sorts and liked meguires performance tyre gel the best.

linseed oil was good but always read/heard tales of it setting fire to rags so went off it a bit .

C4 trim restorer was newish on the market and expensive but was raved about

Probably paint it these days because don’t have the time to keep redoing it
