hi everyone

i want to buy a HD to back up data from x2 2tb drives what would people suggest?

i am running x 1 ssd which has all the programs on it then the x 2 tb's have various data on them.

what is the size of the data you want to be backing up?

I currently have a 3TB Seagate expansion drive which I use and have had no issues with at all.

this is mine

portable drives currently don't go over the 2tb in size so depending on how much data you want to backup you would need a external drive which has its own power cable etc.

list below of external drives from OCUK

Internal or External?

Personally, I tend to buy Samsung or Western Digital

Didn't Samsung's HDD operation get bought out by Seagate a couple of years ago? I was fairly sure the Spinpoint line did, at any rate.

Never been a fan of WD myself, but I think I just had a couple of bad experience.

Either way I agree - my Samsung/Seagate drives have been excellent.

I did away with mechanical HDD's now 1 SSD for OS+Apps, 1 SSD for games and a WD My Passport portable drive USB:3/2 for back up.

Mechanical HDD's are old tech, a portable drive USB:3 is way faster and very handy being portable.:)
