back up of onedrive?

wondered what others do if using onedrive for work files?

i understand that one drive is itself a backup program, but my concern is we have to keep 5 years of company data, and what would happen if some how old files were deleted/went missing.

does anyone do a hard drive back up too? any suggestions of a simple way to keep our one drive files auto backed up each month/year?

Onedrive for business, as it used to be affectionately known, uses SharePoint as it's back end. True company data should be stored there. Users work data should be stored in one drive and once authored, moved to SharePoint. Think of onedrive as your documents, desktop, etc, a replacement for roaming profiles now, not somewhere to store company data.
