Not really, all manufacturers uses their own SMS app, so it's different for each Android phone. Samsung uses Samsung Messages but I believe newer models are now using a reskinned version of Google Messages. I think the S20 still uses Samsung Messages? I read that it could be that I opened the message from a notification bubble which causes another instance on occasion?
Could be a setting in Samsung Messages to display different threads as their own entry but probably bugged out. A quick look at the Galaxy store it hasn't been updated since September 2021, so it may not work properly for newer OneUI versions.
Hmmm I'm not sure I would know what area of the app settings I would know how to disable?
Unfortunately I don't have a Samsung phone to check it with. Did you already have a look at the settings to see if anything look related to recent apps?
Settings takes me to a contact us page. Maybe I should try that out see if there's similar problems!
