Hi all,

When I was 18 I accidentally left a chip pan on that resulted in a fire. Lucky, other than smoke damage we didn't lose anything that couldn't be replaced. However, since then, I have always worried about house fires and those important sentimental things that can't be replaced.

Well, I got married on May 2nd and we had a videographer, but, because of my paranoia I really want to make a backup copy so that I can keep it at the mother-in-laws house.

The videographer is fine with us making copies, but, tbh, I have no idea how? So I figured someone on here can help me.

I am running XP and would like some software to make a backup of this DVD.

Is it just a case of using something like imgburn to make an ISO and then burning that to another DVD? Will that keep all the menu's etc working?

Yes, as long as the "videographer" has not put any protection on it.

Yes, if you make an .iso of the DVD, it will be an exact copy.

Rip it to your HD using DVD shrink (free, goggle it) and then burn it to a DVD or even leave it on your HD as once you've ripped it you'd be able to watch it using a media player from your PC using power DVD ect.

thanks guys, worked a treat! :)

Glad they said we could make copies as they normally charge £25 a copy, however, they've had 4 referrals from us and are so swamped they just gave me permission :D

Would you seriously not make copies without permission? I wouldn't even bother asking....

Purely depends on the person/company.

Andy (the video man) was a great guy, did an amazing job and provided a top quality product at a very reasonable price. I'd feel guilty taking money from him.

However, I have a few copied music cds and games knocking about.

I just don't like ripping off the little man :)
