Hi guys

At uni and i have a my PC and my Laptop and i have my PC directly wired to wireless router and obiviously my laptop contects wirelessly.

What i'm wanting to do is sync mu folder of university work between my computer and laptop so that no matter where i have done the work i'll have a copy on both machines.

On the PC i have a 1tb external which i want to backup my files too (and preferably keep them in the raw state, ie as in files and folders so i can plug the external into any machine and access the data)
Any program that can do this

Many thanks
Grant

I usually reccomend robocopy

But this week, I've been using Windows Live Sync

I'm pretty impressed with it, you leave it logged in, and choose a folder on each machine that you want it to mirror, you login using a windows live login once, then set and forget :)

It works over the internet too

You could also use dropbox. https://www.dropbox.com/

You just select the folders and it uploads them to a server for you. Then install dropbox on any other PC's and log in and it will download them onto your PC. You can also use it to share files or folders with other dropbox users. It also has some version control as well but I've not really played with that.

Edit: Also has a web interface for you to be able to get your files.

I'd love google to release an official service for this, they must have something on the horizon

I know there's Gmail drive, but that's 3rd party
