Setting up Time Machine soon, and my Photos/Music hard drive is FAT32 (because I use it between Windows and Mac a lot)...can I get that backed up too? Or am I limited to transferring everything off, then formatting it to HFS+, and working from there?

Hoping there's a work around to backup FAT32. Would be helpful anyway.

Thanks for any help before I wait hours to transfer all the data from it :p

time machine cannot backup from a fat32 formatted HD best idea would be copy everything off, format to HFS+ then replace the data, to use on the windows side, downloading Macdrive for windows, it allows you to read and write to a hfs+ formatted drive ;)

Mediafour macdrive

As Seraph says, I've used Mediafour before, think I actually bought a license when I ditched Mac and went to Windows only, all my media was on my drobo in HFS+ format, worked flawlessly!

Sorted it anyway, decided it's probably best to have Photos/Music internally, and backed up externally - so spent the day sorting that out.

Thanks for the Mediafour - will look at that at some point! :)
