Backing Up Files

Hi,

I have 100g of files I would like to transfer from pc1 to pc2 both of which are on the same network...

I keep getting an read error msg and I have taken the folder off "read only"

any ideas how i can get rid of this?

are you trying to copy to or from that folder you get the message on?

check your settings in the file sharing, might be set to read only (not just explorer folder properties)

-also, you can run into problems when sharing a folder that resides in C:\documents and settings\

try making "c:\share" and reading/writing to that folder after setting up filesharing on it

thats the error msg I recieve when trying to copy to that folder from a "shared folder"

I have checked both explorer and sharing folder types and taken both off "read only"

will try your suggestion

any more help and advice would be most appreciated..
