Hi

Smashed my iphone on the weekend so will be getting a new one this week. Last time i did this i saved my pictures and that was it and only when i got my new iphone delivered relised i had lost all my bloody contacts. How do i back up my iphone contacts, is there any way to save them onto my sim ?

Cheers

Sam

If you have a recent backup before you smashed it, plugging in your new phone will sync all your data to it. Simples.

Ah sorry good point. If you're on Windows it backs it up to:

C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup

If you're running OSX it backs it up to:

~/Library/iTunes/iPod Software Updates

Hope that helps.

Hi Guys

I can still use it, but didnt relise all i had to do was sync it with itunes and then plug the new one in .... Hope your right as i dont want to lose all my numbers again :p

Hehe yeah that is what I was trying to suggest in my first post. It should have made a backup of your iphone and you should just be able to plug the new one in and restore from that backup :)

No backup made ...

i plug my iphone in and nothing happens , i right click on the iphone icon in itunes and restore from say 4th of may and it simply says

"Could not restore because the back up session failed"

:(

Ok so it syncs my songs / ringtones but that is it ... What a nightmare this is the 2nd time in a year ive lost all of my contacts grrrrr

Iphone sucks, why i cant save my contacts to my sim is beyond me

You must be doing it wrong! :p

Every time I've had a new iPhone it's just... worked! Are you selecting the option to restore from a backup when you first set the phone up?

So open itunes with ipod connected

Devices - Right click on sams iphone > Restore from backup >

Restoring iphone from backup > Backup session failed ...

Is there a way to manually find my numbers .... im on windows 7 if that helps
