So my C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft is only 6 mb, that holds:
Interface
WoW-1.12.x-to-2.0.1-enGB-patch
WTF

Got another folder C:\Users\Public\Games\World of Warcraft that is 13.5 gb that has all the rest inside.

I format my hdd and wondered what would be best way for me to back up wow so i will not have to download all patches/addons again and also want my UI to stay the same...

Thanks

Simply right click on the game folder and select "Copy", then go to another drive and right click and select "Paste". Then when we you format or whatever and want to get the game back, just drag it back from the other drive into any folder you want and run it. It's the actual game folder you need, from the sounds of what you've wrote that seems to be the one in \Public\Games\World of Warcraft ... but I'm suprised it's installed there.

WotLK keeps on pestering you to move the install directory to \Public. "To get round install problems", it says. Anybody who knows how to install and manager their PC will have no problems install in its rightful place, c:\Program Files(x86).

Still, WoW seems to put various logs and patches in \Public but I doubt they need backing up.
