Backlight Bleed

First off, Hi to everyone.

Is backlight bleed common? Do all TFT's suffer from this? I just bought a Viewsonic 17'' TFT and it is noticeable on the lower edge. Not sure if i should go back to CRT!

Could you live with the above?

Try doing what you normally do on your PC with the lighting as you normally have it then see if you can see a problem.

Not sure? Just that it is noticeable and when viewing any page the lower half looks slightly lighter! Is this normal?

If you are getting noticable variations under normal use then personally I'd send it back.

i wouldn't describe that as backlight bleed really, more uneveness in panel uniformity. This kind of thing is quite common on a lot of screens really, you should find some models are better though, but you can certainly see some much worse cases than that
