Backlit keyboard with readable keys in the dark?

Hi,

I've got a Razer Lycossa. It's a decent keyboard, nice feel, but it's almost impossible to read the keys in the dark. The backlight is blue, fairly dull when viewed from an angle (i.e. normal sitting position at a desk), and it also doesn't help that the lettering is quite small.

It also has a few other issues like crappy touch sensitive media controls and some ghosting problems, so I'm looking for a replacement.

So, anyone know a keyboard where in a dark room you can still read the keys clearly? Also I don't want to be able to see the backlight between the gaps in the keys.

I've got my eye on the Corsair Raptor K40. Seems to me that with full colour adjust there should be some colour where the keys are readable, probably white.

Anyway, cheers for any input.

I've got a Logitech G105 - dead easy to read in the dark and you can't see the backlight between the keys.

Thanks.

If I could get that with the green backlight for a reasonable sum I might go for it, but it's kinda hard to find the MW3 edition now. Also lack of dedicated media controls is a bit of an issue.

Managed to find the G105 with the green backlit keys for £50 or so, so I've ordered one of those. I reckon the green will be more readable in the dark.

It'll be a relief to get rid of this Lycossa, the key lights are so dull now, probably because it's 5+ years old.

Cheers.

Iv got some horrid red back lights on my Cooler Master Trigger, it makes my eyes go funny during typing in the dark, I feel like throwing it away and buying something else

I got my new G105. The geniuses at s**n sent me the blue one after all, but the backlight is definitely significantly brighter than my old Lycossa. It does have a few drawbacks - like having to get used to full height keys again, no dedicated media keys and the G keys on the left make it hard for my hand to naturally find WASD by feel (I might end up removing them), but I'm sure I'll soon adapt to it. Overall it's a solid keyboard, and I can read the keys in the dark.
