Hi,

Just a few dumb questions regarding getting a drive to use for backups only.

Is there anything in specific that I should be looking for? I guess speeds etc don't matter since it will only be for storage.

Any reason not to get this? The cheapest 2TB Drive: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-255-SE&groupid=701&catid=14&subcat=1955

Also why is this virtually the same price, same specs(?), but half the capacity: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-257-SE&groupid=701&catid=14&subcat=1279

Thanks for any advice

HDD pricing has been barmy for some time.
At a complete guess could be the old 1TB stock is not selling so pricing based off older orders prices while the 2TB sell in larger quantities so better bulk discounts and latest distributer channel pricing.

I've been happy with my 2TB seagate bought last Nov. Burst and sustained speeds are pretty good, much faster than my 2010 model 1TB.
