Hi,

I would like a program or produce a script using Xcopy, which does the following : -

Back's up specifc files to an esternal hard drive in a folder by date (so that I keep an archieve of different versions).

Any programs out their that do this or could I do it in xcopy?

I can't recall how to create a folder based on today's date, though I am sure I have done this in the long distant past.

However I suggest that you look at Robocopy rather than Xcopy.

The easiest way of doing this is to backup only files that have changed since last time. You do this using the Archive attribute or you could do it based on the file date.
