Backup Software

I use Acronis True Image to backup my boot drive with all my important stuff on... And I use a LTO3 Tape Drive to backup my 10tb media drive as I just cant bare to buy a 10tb drive for backing up because that's just a waste of a good drive.. But backing up onto tape is much more reliable than hdds as you have very little to go wrong with tape.

LTO drives/cassettes are in a different league to VHS as they can store upto about 10tb on 1 cassette and the write speed is 1.000mb/s, but the latest drives cost about 10grand .... I bought mine 2nd hand, not tested for £20 and it works perfectly and in perfect condition too. The write speeds is only about 67mb/s and holds 400gb on 1 cassette because its years behind the latest LTO drives as there onto LTO9 now I think, mines LTO3, but its perfect what I want it for. Ive backed up about 5tb so far onto cassettes and Im on my twelve cassette and its saved my skin a few years ago when a virus corrupted my media drive.
