I've got Office 365 and the 1TB storage that comes with it and I also have a Synology NAS. I already backup my NAS to a USB drive and to external disks.

Can I backup the files on my PC straight to Onedrive without them also appearing in my Onedrive folder? If so, what software do people recommend? Free would be nice, I think I have a paid for version of Acronis True Image 2010 but not sure how good it will be after all these years.

Backup the PC to the Synology, and use Synology Cloud Sync to send the files to online storage (Available through Package Center, install Cloud Station Server first!). Works a treat. Can use OneDrive, Google Drive etc etc.

Cheers, what do you use to backup to the NAS? Just looking at Veeam that someone else mentioned.

I use mine for backing up virtual machines mainly, so I do use Veeam. You can use anything really, just create a share on the Synology and filesync/Acronis/Veeam/Windows Backup to that folder, and sync that folder to OneDrive.

Edit: Don't forget to turn off sync for that OneDrive folder on your PC, you you'll be downloading the backup files back down to the PC :P

I figured that sync option out when my C drive became full!!

Trying Veeam out now and it worked ok and gone across to NAS. However, is there a file size limit you can upload to Onedrive? It's uploaded 2 small files (30-50 MB) but not the main backup one which is 36GB.

OneDrive home has I think has a 10GB file size limit, OneDrive Business is 15GB. I don't think you can split the backup files up in Veeam. You could zip/rar them and break them up that way, but its a bit convoluted. Personally I use Google Drive, as you get unlimited storage with G Suite, and there a 3TB file size limit!

Damn, looks like I'll have to make several backup tasks if I can.
