Backup Via FTP software

Hi all,

I am looking for a good Software for backing up my pictures via FTP, I would like it to be able to do incremental updates.

What would you recommend, Prefer it if its free but am also willing to pay.

You can't really do incremental backups via FTP, and it's a very flaky method of transfer. Can you not use rsync?

Not sure what rsync is, i think ftp is the only way?

Syncback pro has options to do backups via FTP.

However...I have no idea how well it works or even how it works. All I do know is that its a good 'regular' backup software.

It's a way to transfer data differentially and correctly, FTP can't do this. Are you wanting to backup to a webhost or server? You'll probably be able to rsync if you have shell access.

The free version of Syncback can also sync/backup via FTP.

Only prob I had was the file creation date etc was preserved, so when running the next sync it would tell me the files on the FTP server were newer. This could have been a problem with my FTP server, never did try again when I installed a new server.
