Poll: Bacon: back vs. streaky

Following on from http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18371745, I felt a poll was in order to establish whether members prefer back or streaky bacon in their bacon sandwiches / rolls / butties?

Would a passing mod be kind enough to create one please. My preference is definitely for streaky, as I feel it's got more flavour.

Four possible options: smoked streaky, smoked back, unsmoked streaky, unsmoked back?

As if streaky has even a vague chance.

I would hope it does since it's vastly better. Besides which, let me explain polls to you: it's not just who wins but by how much .

I use streaky for the fat content on roasts.

And back for sandwiches, why does it have to be either or?

Who said it did? It's just which you prefer in sandwiches, pretty simple.

Middle bacon - fine you might prefer it, but since it's got qualities of both you might vote for back or streaky depending on which of those qualities you think are most important to your bacon enjoyment experience.

I normally fry streaky in a very hot pan but next time I'll try the slow cook method and see what happens. What with this and the chat about custard doughnuts I have an overwhelming urge to go on a binge eating session .

Surprised smoked is in the lead.

I thought people generally preferred their bacon to taste of... bacon.

So you never season your meat with salt and pepper then?

Neither do I? I think that you missed my point, which is that smoking bacon is no different in principle to adding salt and pepper to a pork joint or something, in that it alters the taste of the meat. Hence I don't think Van Hellseek's point about smoking bacon is particularly valid because it's still bacon, just like jerk chicken is still chicken.
