Bacon...in an air fryer?

Probably no less hassle than a grill, but pan frying? I'd like to see someone fry a whole packet of 8 rashers in one go in a frying pan, with no splatter whatsoever getting anywhere. Anyway, once you get an air fryer you will literally look and anything and say "I wonder if I could air fry that?"

I've actually got one, but never thought of cooking bacon in it. You can Airfry pretty much anything tbh. It's just like a fryer/oven combi. It made a cracking cod and chips for me the other day using extra large Youngs cod fillets.

I hope that is meant to say "piece of bread" :p

I don't see how 10 minutes in the air fryer, messing about skewers etc is any less hassle than a pan or grill tbh.

Nope piece. As in two slices of bread with a filling in the middle. ;)

Do you even Scottish slang? :D

Get a bigger frying pan:confused:

I cannot see how using an Air Fryer is easier, or more importantly healthier, than grilling bacon on foil, which then tidies up with no mess

I can only assume it's one of those "I bought an expensive gadget so have to use it" kind of things where you convince yourself that it's easier. Purely psychological, methinks. :p

How does the cooking time compare with the air fryer versus grill/fry pan - when you've got the urge - my previous gas hob would have bought a fry-pan up to temp probably in a minute, but the rubbish halogen now have takes an age.

what is the air fry time ?
( Did also wonder about an innovative cooking strategy with either blow torch or hot air gun :))

more off-topic can air fryers substitute for deep fat fryers for the likes of battered fish or even doughnuts

EDIT rtft - sorry you already said 10 minutes - how long to get to 200C ?

Yes, should maybe also point out I also have a halogen hob, and my largest frying pan takes an absolute age to heat up, and you still couldn't do the whole packet in one go. Will be ditching the skewers idea and just sling it in and shake, for maximum laziness, which I will reiterate is the be all and end all of this. Pure, unadulterated, bona fide, distilled, complete and utter laziness. Like absolute *minimal* effort, even turning the rashers over on a grill is too much for me I can assure you. 10 minutes from start to finish btw.
