Trying to o/c my cpu a lil i kept the multiplier 11 and upped the cpu frequency thing to like 215 b4 it started to get unstable beyound it. Upped the DDR voltage and the cpu voltage and it didnt seem to go past 2366 ?? Am i doing this right?

Its with an asus a8n sli, i locked the pci thing to CPU as well. Think thats all right?

the ht multi is the hypertransport as opposed to the cpu multi. the 11 you stated is cpu multi, keep it at that. the ht multi i think its called ldt on some mobos or something along those lines, you want it at 3 or 4. you wanna keep the value below 1000 and you find it by ht multiplier x fsb. so for a fsb of 250 you can use 4x 3x 2x and 1x and they will be stable etc..but 5 wont be. hope this helps + makes sense, im tired :(

Ive looked thru my bios and i cant see the HT thing

All i can find is in the jumper free config which has

Volts
PCI-E Clock
PCI Clock sync

am i being thick and missing something? Rest of ya post makes sense apart from that tho :)

Well i dropped the thing down to 4x and the cpu freq is upto 220 with 1.5v and DDR at .65 but if i go to 225 i start getting BSOD's and if i up the ddr to .70 it boots but i get errors in some dlls when trying to load anything.

Whats safe for the DDR? At the mo the cpu is upto 2420.

Think ive done everything right so far :)

Its most likely you rmemory so run it on a divider to keep it under 200mhz. Also You dont want to lock the pci to the cpu - lock it to 33.33mhz and the pci express to 101

When u say ram u mean the speed(mhz)?

Ive put the DDR to .9 and its running fine at 2475 actually boots now with the cpu freq at 225 i think it is and the divider on 4 so still got a bit of room on that.

*edit*

Temps are at 44 degrees under prime95 as well, which isnt to bad

have you got cpu-z program, if so go to the memory tab and it will say Frequency..... ehat does it say at the moment

Your memory may not cope with running faster than 225.

If your FSB=225 and your memory is running at 225, then you need to run your memory on a divider. At the moment its on 1:1.

Your memory may show as running at 200Mhz in the bios, and you'll want to step that down to 166Mhz.

That would result in your memory running at around 176Mhz when your FSB is 225 giving you more room to put the FSB higher ;)

I may as well give you the setup I currently have for my 3700+, which may help you.

Multiplier 11 x FSB 255 = Core speed of 2805Mhz

CPU Voltage is 1.4

Memory bios setting 166Mhz = 200Mhz running due to overclocking.

there is no lock to 66 its 33/PC or nothing i think...

So turn the memory thing down to 166? And up the rest?

Fred u got the same mobo? Also what HSF u using?

*edit*

Mem is set to AUTO and its just under 2600 now and its running good temps, scored just under about 13700 in 3dmark 03, this decent ?
