Bad company 2

Hello i went down to Cex today and before buying a 2nd hand copy of battlefield bad company 2 i asked the guy over the counter if i am going to get an un used serial for online play, he said yes. I got the game got home today went on multiplayer and it says cd key already linked to an account. I tried contacting ea support any other ideas?

I could take it back but from what i read they dont take back games if there is nothing wrong with them. Also dont shops buy PC games that use serials that can only be used once?

Im going to take a picture of my game case and the cd key and show it EA as proof maybe that will work.

should i tell ea that i bought the game 2nd hand ? will that make a difference when i ask them for help on live chat?
